Christmas is celebrated with masses in the churches of Albania

Christmas Day started this morning with celebrations and masses throughout Albania by Orthodox and Catholic believers.
These are the images of the mass in Durrës which was served in the Orthodox Church of St. Asti and St. Paul, as well as in the Catholic Church of St. Domenik.
The images also shows the Church of the Goddess in Gjirokastra where hundreds of believers awaited for the day of the birth of Christ, where Father Joan wished for “more peace, love and harmony for the future.”
In Vlora in southeastern Albania believers attended masses and then celebrated with their family.
In Korça, Christmas mass was held in the cathedral in the centre of the city. A large number of believers went to follow the rites there.
In Elbasan, believers have gathered in the churches of the city to take part in the ceremonies of this significant day.
Similar celebrations were held in other cities in Albania.
