Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The master of the Albanian choreography passed away in a hospital where
he was treating the wounds of an accident that took place on 7 March
2012.
On the day of the accident, Aliaj was working for the new premiere of the Opera and Ballet Theater, “The Tenth Wound of Gjergj Elez Alia”.
After the rehearsals he was hit by a car in the city center. The 79 year old was unable to survive the wounds and passed away this afternoon. Master Aliaj has a 50 year long career at the Opera and Ballet Theater.

The life of Master Agron Aliaj was dedicated to beautiful arts and ballet. For him, art was a gift in which the man has the possibility to express his world and feelings in the entire vision and labyrinth of the human life. He realized some masterpieces of the national and international ballets, such as: “Halili and Hajrija” (1963), “Delina” (1964), “Cuca e maleve” (1970), and classical: “Kujdesi i kote” (1957), “Romeo and Juliet” (1957), “Francesca da Rimini” (1962), “Lola” (1958), “Paganini” (1963), “Fadeta” (1960), etc. He is the author of many national works, such as: “Cuca e maleve” (1970), “Tokë e pamposhtur” (1977), “Para stuhisë” (1982), “Plaga e dhjetë e Gjergj Elez Alisë”, “Halili dhe Hajria” (1966), and classical ballets “Giselle” (1988), “Don Quixote” (1990), “Romeo and Juliet” (1996), “Cinderella” (2002), “Cathedral of Paris” (2003) etc.
He has been honored with the Republic Award and holds the title “People’s Artist”.
