Politics in Albania has also involved the children. The Children’s day,
June 1st, had as protagonists the children and politicians too.

Under the care of the Education Directory, almost all pre-high school students filled the main boulevard for celebrating, but the main purpose was that at 11:30 they would meet Prime Minister Berisha.

The school children celebrated June 1st with two raised fingers and chanting the Prime Minister’s name, while Berisha felicitated from Tirana all children of Albanian.

“On this day, we must felicitate every Albanian child and embrace all of them, wishing that the joy they feel today will accompany them forever”, Berisha declared.

In another premise, other children have chanted the name of another leader, Edi Rama. The opposition leader celebrated with the children of the Municipal Unit no.8 in the Albanian capital. He felicitated them for less poverty and less children who work and remain illiterate.

“I want to say to all parents that we are committed to make everything possible for having less poor children, less children that don’t go to schools because their parents are unable to buy them clothes”, Rama declared.

The opposition leader distributed gifts for the children who participated in the activity organized especially for them on June 1st.

The President met a group of orphan children at the Palace of Brigades, in presence of the diplomatic bodies accredited in Tirana and the leaders of the National Institution for the Integration of Orphans.

The President decorated with the Gratitude Medal and “Golden Naim Frasheri” Order the three activists who have worked for the integration of orphan children.
