CEZ Company reacted after the Albanian government declared that they will block the sale of their shares.
CEZ Spokesperson declared for Bloomberg that they have constantly discussed the sale option with the Albanian government.
CEZ is trying to sell their shares after a conflict with the government, mainly for the energy price and failing to improve results.
But the government declared that they would block the plan, after the Ministry of Economy claims that CEZ has caused 1 billion USD damage to Albania.
Analysts in the Czech Republic say that the figure claimed by the Albanian government is illogical and that they don’t expect CEZ to pay for any damage in Albania. But according to them, the chances that CEZ will sell its activity are close to zero.
“The Albanian government has not explained what they include in the 1 billion USD, but we suppose that they are trying to calculate the damages”, declared the CEZ spokesperson for Bloomberg.
“This claim only shows that the problem is just being politicized”, she concluded.
