Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The government is assessing the option to take CEZ Distribution under
state ownership for avoiding any energy crisis that could be caused by
the recent problems.
Answering to the opposition’s interest, the Deputy Minister of Economy, Enno Bozdo, declared that the government is negotiating to take the CEZ Distribution Company shares with a symbolic price of 1 Euro.
“We held direct negotiations with the CEZ mother Company to review all options that would lead us to a solution without causing any damage to the power supply of our country. The best option is for the state to take the CEZ Company ownership for a symbolic price of 1 Euro. Both parties preserve the right to file claims in a process that will be different from the first one, so that CEZ Distribution will be administered as it should, which hasn’t happened so far”, Brozdo declared.
The problems with the CEZ Distribution started after the company failed to fulfil the objectives placed in the importing agreement, which was realized by the Albanian Power Corporation. The Energy Regulation Entity started the procedures to review the CEZ licence.
