CEZ starts action in Kukes

Kukes is the town with the biggest population that do not pay for
energy. CEZ, now administered by the Albanian government, is still
making power cuts in the area.
CEZ tried similar actions before, but faced violent protests. The current action is led by the CEZ administrator itself.
“As you see, today we are operating by cutting the energy to every client that has not paid, for families and businesses. The company will publish the names of all citizens who work in state and private companies and who have not paid their energy bill. We are documenting the abusive cases that will be responsible for the legal procedure”, the declaration says.
Only 4% of the families pay for energy in Kukes, and 60% of the businesses. The situation has only got worse and there has been no intervention for resolving this situation.
