Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future CEZ announced the sale of their business in Albania. But this sale must
be reviewed first by the Energy Regulation Entity, according to the law.
ERE chairman, Sokol Ramadani, explained that CEZ must fill an application before putting the company on sale.
“After the licence will be revoked, CEZ can pas its administration to a company, but for this they must apply at the ERE”, Ramadani declared.
If the company will not apply at least one week before removing the licence, they lose the right to sell it, according to Ramadani.
After CEZ answered that they will not fulfil the conditions set by ERE, the latter is reviewing the claims and will give a decision next week. CEZ specifies the reason why they cannot import is the difficult financial situation that according to them was brought by the penalizations from the Albanian government.
CEZ declared that potential buyers could show their interest in January, and the company will take another decision about this.
On the same time, the declarations of the mother company in the Czech Republic, which owns 76% of the shares, says that they will keep negotiating with the Albanian authorities to resolve the current stalemate.
