CEZ employees, investigation concluding

Another source from the investigation group declared for Top Channel that there are at least 10.000 cases when the CEZ energy meter checkers have falsified bills by declaring in their bills that energy was interrupted due to the delays, and the  citizens were fined while the act didn’t exist.

The same sources confirmed that this way of stealing had been applied by all meter checkers who are under investigation by the Tirana Prosecution.

“We have concluded the interrogation of the CEZ checkers and some of them will be taken as defendants soon”, one of the sources declared for Top Channel.

Meanwhile, some CEZ directors have been interrogated and they have given their version about this mechanism, but the investigation team gave no details if these officials will be taken as defendants together with the energy meter checkers.

The investigations for the massive CEZ file started after hundreds of citizens complained for overpriced bills. Currently, dozens of documents seized at CEZ are being scrutinized.

Another investigation team is verifying a report filed in 2011 by a citizen who explains the mechanism used by CEZ for causing economic damages to the citizens and the state.

The members of the investigation team declared for Top Channel that since this citizen is nowhere to be found, they asked the help of the Tirana police for identifying him, since his name did not appear at the TIMS network.

“We suspect that this person has given a fake identity and he might be a former employee of this company, based on the detailed confession”.

The possible theft mechanisms are being investigated, although the CEZ Company has declared earlier for Top Channel that this report is a speculation.
