tate owned institutions and private ones that owe due payments to CEZ
Distribution, will have a deadline until this Wednesday to pay their
bills.
Otherwise, CEZ Distribution announces that these institutions will have their energy cut.
The company is not making public the names of the institutions, but through a decalartion appeals them to start paying soon, letting August 7th and the deadline.
The threat of CEZ Distribution comes on the peak of the tourist season. On the same period of one year ago, when the system was managed by the Czech Company, CEZ started an action in the entire country to punish the consumers who had not paid, by cutting their energy until they paid.
During this action the Czech employees faced protests and some of them were even involved in direct conflicts with the residents.
This action continued in November in Elbasan, Lac, Durres ans Saranda, and the citizens were warned to prepare with water supplies and ask their aqueducts if they offered any alternative for the consumers.
In this sistuation, on January 21st, the Energy Regulation Entity decided to remove the license of the Czech owners for failing to implement the agreement, by making official the failure of the most strategic privatization in Albania, and by returning the energy distribution under state control.
