CEZ: Black-outs due to overload

Since the New Year’s celebration days, the Albanian capital has suffered
frequent and long black-outs that are continuing even today, especially
in suburb areas, such as “Kombinat”.

The Power Distribution Director at CEZ, Admirim lakra, declared for Top News that these black-outs are due to network overload.

Besides this, the repairs planned by the Transmission System Operator have left several Tirana areas without electric power up to eight hours per day.

CEZ admits that the planning requires the repairs to be made during Spring or Summer, but defects in some substations and works for some state institutions have left many citizens without electric power in these cold winter days.

Despite this situation, CEZ Distribution declared that the power supply for 2011 was better than one year ago, and the investments that are expected to be made will give a better supply during 2012.
