CEZ acts against non-paying customers

The Power Distribution CEZ Company has started an action in the entire
Albanian territory for punishing the citizens who do not pay for
electricity.
The most problematic areas are Kukes, Saranda, Lezha, Fushe Kruja and many informal areas in Tirana. CEZ has interrupted their power supply until they will pay the obligations.
CEZ says that the accumulated debts mounts up to 22 million AL, mentioning the most problematic areas such as Saranda, with 3 million ALL, Lezhe with 5 million ALL and Nikel and Fushe Kruje.
“The electric power was cut in these areas, until the due payments will be completed”, declared Admirim lakra, director of the Distribution Division.
During this action CEZ has discovered many illegal connections. CEZ says that only during 2012 there are 1700 cases that have been sent to the prosecution. The CEZ company has asked the help of the local authorities, since there have been conflicts in some areas, with the residents blocking their employees outside the offices.
