Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future
The Red and Black Alliance representatives say that the population
registration process has failed. The Alliance representatives underline
that the questions based on ethnicity and religion are on Athens’
interest.
“40% of the Albanians have said ‘no’ to ethnicity and religion. The Albanian citizens implemented the Constitutional Court decision”, declared the Red and Black Alliance representatives.
According to them, the Census is not transparent. They also accuse the government of using 13 million EUR for the interest of Greece.
The Red and Black Alliance declared a few days ago that there are proofs and facts for abuses during the population registration.
The Alliance says that they are closely following the registration process in Shengjergj, where people with Muslim names are being declared as Greek citizens.
RBA also declared that many interviewers are using pencils, leaving space to abuses.
“Many citizens are photocopying the registration questionnaire for using it as a document at the Greek Consulate. Macedonian Embassy representatives have asked the Golloborda citizens to declare themselves as Macedonian. They have also asked to handpick the interviewers in these areas. Thousands of militants have been contacted to politically control this process, in exchange of job opportunities. Many of the interviewers are lacking of proper education for being part of this process in accordance with the parameters requested by the EU”, the declaration says.
RBA emphasizes that this registration violates the Constitution and is not based on any Albanian law.
