11/07/2011 19:00

The Central Election Commission was unable to approve the act that distributes the mandate for Tirana Municipal Council.

CEC was unable to reach the approval of the act with a qualified majority, with only four votes in favor and two against, while the act needs five votes in favor.

The session was characterized by strong debates between CEC Chairman Arben Ristani and SP Commissioners Eridian Saliani and Deshira Subashi.

The latter claimed that there were irregularities and abuses with the tabulations.

The Democratic Party commissioner, Njazi Kosovrasti, declared that the tabulation cannot be rejected by anyone, since the Socialist Party commissioners have not filed any complaint during the judicial sessions.

The next meeting of the Central Election Commission will be held tomorrow at 11:00.
