A serious incident happened today on the old Vlorë-Fier road axis in southern Albania, near the village of Bestrovë, where a car hit two foreign tourists who were riding on bicycles.
As a result of the collision, a 51-year-old woman tragically lost her life, while her husband is in the hospital under the care of doctors.
The couple came from France and were traveling on two bicycles.
Foreigners who travel by bicycle often take this secondary road axis since vehicle traffic is less frequent.
The 24-year-old man who hit the tourists with his car, was escorted to the police station for further action. Investigations continue.
