The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, reacted to the report of the OSCE/ODIHR, saying that regardless of the different interpretations, the report is more critical to the opposition.
According to Cakaj, political dialogue is more important than trading fake news and misinforming about the results of the report.
“Several political and mediatic circles have discussed the content of the OSCE/ODIHR report. There has been an effort to misuse the international references in front of local public opinion”, Cakaj declared.
According to the Minister, it is more important to open political dialogue, with the purpose of addressing the concerns of the ODIHR report.
“The electoral process in Albania was free, democratic and recognized by the international partners”, Cakaj declared, adding that the report considered the behavior of the DP and SMI as very violent.
“We have been exposed to vandal violence, before and after the elections. This is what the report also says. There have been efforts to block Albania’s EU integration process”, Cakaj concluded.
