The acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, declared in a joint press release with his Hungarian Counterpart, Peter Szijjarto, that Albania must not take steps back based on party interest, but there should be more commitment on behalf of the national interest.
Cakaj said that the elections of June 30th must have the European agenda as their priority.
He thanked Hungary for the support to Albania in its Integration path, and added that the help of Albania’s friends should be accompanied by more efforts, political will and internal actions that don’t block but help with the opening of the EU accession negotiations.
The Hungarian Minister confirmed his support for Albania’s EU accession negotiations.
