Bushati landfill remains empty

Although the Bushat landfill was inaugurated by Prime Minister Berisha
two months ago, this 500 million ALL investment hasn’t been working for a
single day.
The reason is a conflict between the Shkoder Municipality and the Bushat Commune, with both parts disagreeing about the tax that Bushat commune set to Shkoder Municipality for eliminating their waste materials in this landfill.
Shkoder Municipality leaders say that this is a situation that requires the intervention of the respective Ministry, or it must be supported by the state budget, since the Municipality doesn’t dispose the financial means for sending the waste materials at this implant.
“This is a responsibility that should be taken by the administrations of both ministries that are obliged to undertake a legal initiative for resolving the problem. These are compromises that cannot be achieved in these conditions, because every administration must take its own position”, declared the Shkoder vice Mayor.
The leaders of the Bushat commune declared that there is a solution undergoing, which will give a positive answer to both parties. The Shkoder waste materials are still being accumulated at the suburbs of the city, near the “Martyr’s Cemetery”.
