The Albanian Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati, had a confrontation with the opposition a few hours before his meeting in Crete with the Greek counterpart, Nikos Kotzias, to discuss important suspended matters between both countries, including the maritime agreement.
Bushati responded to the opposition: “The Constitutional Court voted against an agreement signed by the Democratic Party and your Prime Minister, who you still support today. He said some horrible things. He said that it was done on behalf of third parties. He said that the agreement will continue the same and that we had corrupted the Constitutional Court”, Bushati declared.
“With this kind of standard, all I can say is to hell with consensus. An anti-national standard that tells the Constitutional Court that it is corrupted”, Bushati declared.
“You had a lot of courage to call the opposition anti-national”, said the chairman of the Parliamentary Commission of Foreign Affairs, Tritan Shehu. “It is sad that the Foreign Minister comes here with this declaration. Bye”, Shehu reacted and left the room.
