The Albanian Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati, declared that the vote of Albania in the UN, favouring the resolution against the decision to declare Jerusalem capital of Israel, has been in line with the past votes of Albania for years.
“Since 2007, as the former Foreign Minister has said, Albania stays in line with the EU as regards votes for the disputed areas, including Eastern Jerusalem. This has been a consensual stance of Albania. It has been the same in 2007, when the country was led by the Democratic Party. DP voted different from the USA as well. The SP had the same approach. There are 12 resolutions that show the firm stance of Albania”, Bushati declared.
All EU member countries, according to Bushati, voted in favor the same as Albania. When asked why he didn’t notify the Parliament and President about this, Bushati said that this was a routine voting.
