Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Bushat residents in Shkoder have reacted against the collective punishment that CEZ has unjustly taken for the entire area.
14 villages with 20.000 residents of this commune have been collectively punished by cutting the electricity with 8 and 9 hours per day, since many of them has not paid the bills.
A great damage is going to the businesses. One of the residents says that although he has paid the electricity correctly, he has had a damage of 4 million ALL. He says that they will block the national road if the problem will not be resolved.
Besides the collective damage, the residents complain that there have been no investments in the electric network for 40 years. CEZ sources explain that the area in question has been punished collectively because 100% of the clients have not paid the electricity bills.
