At least five passengers of a Tirana-Elbasan bus were wounded today in
an accident that took place eight kilometers from the capital.
The bus crashed with a vehicle and entered a roadside canal. Ambulances, firefighters and police officers arrived on the scene.
Some of the travelers were shocked and were immediately sent to the Mother Theresa hospital center. Fortunately, none had life threatening injuries.
Police took under custody the driver of the vehicle for flagrant violation of the traffic rules, for injuring more than two persons and for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The driver have violated at least five rules, since he has hit the bus from behind by putting the passengers’ lives in danger.
The investigation is still open.
