Bulqize, Prosecutors enter gallery

They entered at 13:00, but earlier the day, at 08:00, the miners were the ones who entered for starting working in some of the levels. The prosecutors had seized the documentations of the ACR Company for verifying the safety procedures.

They have interrogated the Company leaders and the miners, and left without giving any detail about the ongoing investigation.

The former hunger strike leader says that although there has been a suspension order, there have been people working in some levels.

The ACR Company explained that they have fulfilled all instructions given by the Ministry of Economy, and have followed the inspection act of the Department of Mine Inspection and Salvation (DMIS).

ACR is waiting for the DMIS final report, for knowing the circumstances that caused the tragic incident. The company has offered all necessary documentation for the case. DMIS, in cooperation with the ACR structures, has taken measures and are eliminating the problems.

Explosion in Bulqize, one miner dead

There’s no rest for the Bulqize miners. A grave accident has taken place this Tuesday morning, which left one miner dead and wounded 9 others, while they were working at the 16th level. It is suspected that the cause was a gas explosion at the gallery they were working in.

Latest information suggest that the miner that passed away is the 39-year-old Naim Shyti. The wounded miners are in serious conditions for their life.

The emergency units have arrived on the site and are transporting the wounded miners to the hospital, while waiting a helicopter from Tirana to give them a more specialized treatment in the capital.
