Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Prosecutors that are investigating the explosion at the Bulqize
mine, which left one miner dead and eight others injured have arrived in
Tirana for taking the testimonies of the miners that are being treated
at the American Hospital.
Two of the miners are considered as the main eye witnesses, but the first one, Zaim Perkola, declared that he didn’t remember anything and that at the time of the explosion he was sitting on a stool, 100 meters from the explosion source.
The prosecutors are trying to take the testimony of the other miner, Basri Toska, who just came out of the coma.
Since he is still being treated in the reanimation room, with severe head injuries, the doctors decided that he should not be interrogated, for avoiding psychological damages.
When the Prosecutor Hysni Vata was asked about the report that the Mine Inspection and Salvation Department published one day ago, saying that the explosion was caused by a human error, he replied that they are investigating.
The Prosecution is investigating for any possible infringement of the working regulation.
