The ACR Company in Bulqize held a meeting for analyzing the explosion accident that left one dead miner and wounded 8 others.
After this meeting, the head of the ventilation brigade was dismissed, together with the brigadier of level 16, while the chief of this level received a warning notice.
These are some of the measures taken by the ACR Company, while the prosecution is investigating for finding the ones who caused this serious accident.
Parallel to the prosecutors, who have entered the mines, investigations are being held by the Department of Mines Inspection and Salvation.
The tragedy took place when the miners entered level 16 for placing the ventilation system. The gas meter detected very high hydrogen levels and the miners were asked to immediately leave the gallery, but a spark caused the explosion.
The rescue teams pulled the miners outside the underground levels, initially eight of them, one of each dead. After a while they also found the ninth wounded miner.
The injured miners received treatment at the hospital for the severe fractures and burns. Three of them were transported to Tirana’s Military Hospital and to the American Hospital.
This Wednesday, the miners went to the funeral of their colleague and didn’t go to work, as sign of protest.
