The long drought and its impact on national energy reserves may cause the Budget 2018 to be changed, as noted by a government report.
Imports reached 30 million EUR in November and the situation may not change for December as well.
There are also financial difficulties, since the World Bank loan has been exhausted.
The Albanian Energy Corporate (OSHEE) has covered imports with its own funds and government financial support, but no other budget funds are planned for this year, and for 2018 neither.
The government declared that the electricity will not be interrupted, and that between increasing fees and adding budget support, they will choose the latter.
