Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, in a joint press conference in Brusssels, have lauded the reopening of the direct flights between Pristina and Belgrade, praising it as a step that should be followed by other similar initiatives.

“I thank Mr. Stoltenberg who has been so supportive of us and our region. Supporters for the restoration of the Pristina-Belgrade air-line, which is an important step and should be followed by others, as such improvements in the process of regional and interstate development. We consider NATO an important part of the OSCE and a factor in making our lives successful”, the Prime Minister said.

During the conference Rama also spoke about the housing the Iranian mujahideen in the country and stated that Albania will continue to do so, as humanity is part of the country’s tradition. He also brought to attention the help given to the Jews after World War II.

“Albania has agreed to shelter some thousands of people whose lives are threatened by the Tehran regime. This is part of what we are, part of our tradition. We were the country that had more Jews after World War II and our country was a safe home for them”, concluded Rama.
