Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future Some well-known bakeries and shopkeepers continue ignoring the new
legislation that obliges them to use organic paper for the bread.
National Food Authority inspectors see Tirana as the most problematic city, where most of this business is concentrated.
According to Manjola Vraja, NFA inspector, most of the bakeries in the Albanian capital do not respect the new standards, despite the fines.
NFA assesses that they cannot implement the law by themselves, and they asked the consumers to help with the process, by refusing bread in plastic bags, which is dangerous for their help.
After a meeting with bread producers, food specialist declared that massive bread which is sliced and preserved in plastic bags can be contaminated and loses its food values.
Despite the NFA appeals, in most of Tirana’s bakeries, the situation is unchanged, as Top Channel camera’s verified.
