The Socialist MP, Erjon Brace, filed a report at the Tirana Prosecution
against the commission and consultants Patton Boggs, the company hired
by the government to administer the Albpetrol privatization, a tender
that failed.
Brace asked the Prosecution to start investigating for all the people involved in this process for power abuse, fraud and violating the equality in tenders. Brace listed the facts that followed the privatization of the company.
“The damage caused to the Albanian sstate is 85 million EUR”, says the Socialist MP, referring to the unpaid guarantee by Vetro.
“If the Commission has implemented the law, the payment of the guarantee should enter in effect since December 4th 2012. The Ministry, by not asking this payment within the deadline, has abused with its power or even stolen. And if the guarantee was not valid, the tender commission has committed power abuse and violated the tender equality”, Brace added.
According to Brace, the fact that the consultant has given official guarantee for the existence of this guarantee, does not exclude the evaluation commission from legal responsibilities, if this document was not as the law requires.
Brace suspects that the certification of the guarantee by Patton Boggs is fake, and it has influenced the decision making of the Commission, which caused the damage.
