Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Socialist MP, Erjon Brace, accused the Albanian government of
copying the propositions made by the opposition for the facilities of
small business.
“The draft-law with these propositions was filed by us on 27 March 2012. Zero VAT for fertilizers and agricultural machineries. The Prime Minister voted against it in Parliament”, Brace declared.
The fiscal changes passed in Parliament last December, but the initial variant predicted the VAT on machineries for investments that passed $500.000, excluding this way all farming economies and small business in general. Brace says that the propositions made by the opposition have improved the law, including farms and small business.
“Berisha voted against these measures. He is now copying them. He doesn’t have a single idea, not a single development program”, Brace declared.
But the laws have not entered in effect yet.
“What Berisha waives today as fiscal reforms for machineries was approved on December. If this man would have thought about working in the government, he would have been able to tell the laws that passed in December and the sub-legal acts that follow it, which are not considered fiscal reform, but simply acts that implement the law and make it functional, which have not passed yet and create obstacles”, Brace declared.
