Erion Brace, chairman of the Parliamentary Commission of Economy, declared in an interview for Top Channel that he has no stance about the propositions for an international investigation of the CEZ affair. But he doesn’t hesitate to suggest the Prosecution that everything should be included in the investigation, from the moment CEZ entered Albania and until it left, and also the companies affiliated with it.
Brace says that after DIA had its agreement suspended, nine other companies suddenly appeared in the market.
“The entire business of DIA was concluded in 2011, and it was transferred to nine other companies. Besides DIA, the Prosecution should also investigate the relation of CEZ with all the other companies. I am able to identify the nine others, two Czech and seven Albanian companies, as clients of the government of that time”, Brace says.
Brace focused on one of these companies, called Ce2Services, saying that it has an agreement different from the others.
“It has a specific paragraph for collecting the obligations of Albpetrol. It is strange, because 100% of the shares were holded by the government, and the government’s influence for the payment was direct. The success fee was 32% for the principal and 50% for interest and delay fines”, Brace explained.
Brace is holding the same stance of four years ago, when he denounced the CEZ affair from the Socialist HQ.
When asked why no investigation has been conducted in these two years of the left government, he says that the Prosecution and the government agencies should have worked with this case.
