Bozdo explains Albpetrol situation

One day after the Minister of Economy declaration, saying that the Vetro
Energy did not make the first payment for the Privatization of
Albpetrol, the opposition asked explanations from the government about
the process.

The Deputy Minister of Economy, Eno Bozdo, declared that the law provides to continue with the other offers, while the procedures have started for securing the guarantee of the first offer of 85 million EUR. But the Socialist MP, Eduard Shalsi, put in question the existence of this guarantee.

Enno Bozdo: We followed all the legal steps, waited for the first deadline and fulfilled teh company’s request for a second deadline. Now that the deadline is over, we have made a request to secure the offer and eventually we will proceed with the second, the third or the fourth company in the list, as the law requires.

Eduard Shalsi: There is a great contradiction in what you are saying today. “They didn’t fulfil the condition. Can you tell me what it means that the guarantee condition was not fulfilled? There are privatization cases when the guarantee is released on the day that the agreement was signed. You are ready to sign the agreement and the company of the first place doesn’t pay. There was an answer regarding the guarantee of the offer, if it exists. It is adequate, conform what you have asked or not”.

Enno Bozdo: While the Ministry declares that the final step before the signing has not been fulfilled by the Ministry, it means that both parties have agreed for the agreement.

Eduart Shalsi: This is what I wanted to know. The negotiations have ended and the only problem is that the company has not given the money.

‘Vetro Energy’ offered 850 million EUR for the purchase of Albpetrol. The government says that this offer was covered according to the law, with the respective guarantee that is 10% of the total price, in this case 85%, and that was verified by the adviser of Patton Boggs.
