Bollano separates “Unity of Human Rights” from allies

The Election Central Commission (ECC) approved “Alliance for the Future” coalition that includes 23 parties and is headed by the Socialist Party of Albania.

ECC removed from the left coalition the “The Justice for Albanians Movement” on their request.

But the biggest loss for the coalition is the independent candidacy of “Unity of Human Rights Party” (UHRP) which was missing in the left wing coalition list that ECC approved.

The breaking point seems to have been Vasil Bollano’s candidacy in Himara. Socialist Party had publicly announced that his candidacy would lose their support, while UHRP has confirmed Mr. Bollano as their candidate for Himara municipality.

Independent candidacy gives UHRP the right to compete in all other municipalities and not only in Himara.

UHRP gave no comments on this matter, while Socialist Party confirmed that UHRP remains part of the opposition, despite this election’s independent participation.

Despite UHRP and the other party that was removed in the last minute, this coalition remains the biggest that the Socialist Party has ever done.

The Democratic Party also declared earlier that would not support Mr. Bollano’s candidacy for Himara.
