Bode presents draft-budget

The Minister of Finances, Ridvan Bode, presented at the Conference of
Chairmen the budget of 2012, which, according to him, preserves the
financial stability of the country.

“The general fiscal deficit is under 3% and this does not hamper the second objective, that of keeping the public debt under the limit of 60%. The budget capital expenses will still be higher than the fiscal deficit. If we plan the fiscal deficit to 3%, the public expenses and investments will be around 5%”, Bode declared.

The Government has planned to spend 396 billion ALL for the next year and is expecting to collect 356 billion from the taxes. Compared to the reviewed plan of this year, the 3.6% increase is the lowest in the history.

“The final predictions for 2012 are based on the current economic and fiscal developments, with a critical view to the full realization of the objectives of 2011. Until now we have seen weaknesses in the inner activity of the Albanian economy”, Bode emphasized.

But the biggest danger for the Minister of Finances comes from the western economies and the measures that they are obliged to undertake by decreasing the expenses for preserving the debt.

“We must say that the recent decisions and measures that are being taken by the European Commission for the Eurozone belong to a small mass, and the economies of peripheral countries are the economies of Central and Eastern Europe, the paces of which not only have started to fall, but are constantly copying the developments of the Eurozone”, Bode declared.

The government has predicted for the next year an economic growth of 4.3%, which Bode sees as a realist prediction.
