Bode meets WB leaders

The Albanian government continues the declaration for economic growth,
despite the much different evaluations made by the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank
and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The Minister of Finances, Ridvan Bode, met WB leaders in USA and informed them that the economic growth for this year is expected to be 4%.

During the meeting with the WB vice President, Philip Le Houerou and Jane Armitage, director for Southeastern Europe, Bode declared:

“Albania continues to have a satisfying economic pace as result of the government reforms, facing pressures of the world economic crisis with success”.

The Minister related his optimistic prediction to the economic environment that favors businesses, where low taxes policy and reforms in the legal structures prevail.

On his behalf, the vice President of the World Bank emphasized that the Bank will continue to support the projects and investments in the key economic sectors, especially in infrastructure and social sector.

In this meeting was also present the Governor of Bank of Albania, Ardian Fullani.
