Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Boboshtica graves were violated once again for the Greek Liberation
Day. In this homage was also Naum Disho, who was together with the MP of
the Nea Democracia Party, Maria Antoniu.
After the Supreme Court returned Disho’s case for a review, he will be free until a new court decision. He has been able to avoid jail after the one year sentence issued 12 months ago.
The religious ceremony was held near the 200-year-old cemetery, honoring the Greek soldiers that were killed during the war with Italy in 1940. Representatives from the OMONIA organization, the Greek Consulate in Korce and dozens of other visitors have arrived from Greece for this ceremony.
Three buses with dozens of cars stopped in the village while the travellers and representatives of different organizations placed wreaths near the memorial that was built for the other graves of this village.
The ceremony started with a mass that was held in Greek, at the Saint Mary Monastery, where the graves are situated. The dozens of people who were present in this ceremony were actually stepping over the graves of the Albanian local residents, according to the locals.
