“Block”, the “Lazarat” of Tirana

Based on the frequent citizens’ complaints, representatives from the Ministry of Environment, the Tirana Police Directory, the Public Health Institution and the Tirana Municipal Police have started last Friday an action against all subjects that produce noise.

“We have detailed information regarding the noise generation. There are many causes, but the most important fact is that these subjects create noise in the late hours of night”, declared Alfred Deshati, director of the Environment Inspection.

According to Deshati, most of the subjects have secured licenses from the local units, but the voice limit is not specified. Those who don’t have these permits will be punished with fines.

14 of 15 targeted subjects were fined last night at the former-block area, from 30.000 to 50.000 ALL.

In Durres also there were suspended three activities on Friday. The summer nights turn into hell for the Tirana residents who live near bars that do not respect the deadlines, while the Municipal Police faces hundreds of citizens’ phone calls that seek help. The same situation is repeated each year and the rules are not turning into common behaviour. The fines are very small to make the owners respect the rule of law.
