Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future Disabled people appealed the Prime Minister Berisha to intervene for
resolving the stalemate created between them and the Ministry of Labor,
as regards the compensation of the electric energy, transportation and
other benefits due to their status.
According to Sinan Tafaj, the draft-law presented at the Parliamentary Commission has not included their suggestions.
“They are asking us an unjust compromise. As for the energy, there must be a limit for the average consumption measure, accepted by the CEZ Company. The difference should be subventioned, but the government has the right to place criteria for excluding the economic subventions”, Tafaj declared.
According to this draft-law, all blind people could benefit compensation in the energy and phone bill, but the criteria are set by the Council of Ministers, not the law.
“For as long that we are waiting the implementation of the law and the Parliamentary hearing session, we will be united with our reaction and will protest. Everything that is happening is not for our fault, but for that of the local and central governments, who are leaving us in the middle of the road”, declared Myjbere Prizreni, from the Association of Paraplegics.
The draft law is being discussed in the Parliamentary Commission for Social Matter and in the next meeting will be heard the persons that are directly affected.
