The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu and public health experts of the national vaccination program, stated today from the Health Center No. 6 in Tirana that the free flu vaccines have been provided for the categories in need.
Meanwhile the head of the Department of Infectious Diseases at IPH, prof. Silva Bino said that work is being done in several directions to provide a safe vaccine against the COVID-19.
“We are committed to provide the vaccination program and this year we have provided the multiplication of free flu vaccines for the categories in need, according to the definitions of the Institute of Public Health”, said Manastirliu in the renovated Kombinat Health Center.
Infectious Diseases Chief Bino said work was under way to provide a safe vaccine against COVID-19.
“The world still does not have a safe vaccine, there are some 7 vaccines that have passed to the second phase, they are promising vaccines in various initiatives. One initiative is the COVAX Global Initiative, an initiative of several countries and important international partners in the field of vaccination under the leadership of the WHO. We will choose the vaccine that is most effective and safe,” said Bino.
Manastirliu added that investments in health centers will continue and new construction sites will be opened in these two months.
