The European Union will support the fight against organized crime in
Albania. The European Union ambassador, Ettore Sequi, told to Mr,Saimir
Tahiri during a meeting that he is facing a big challenge ahead.
“The Minister spoke about several reforms that he want to implement. These are very impressive reforms and I believe that they will make the Albanian police more efficient. The Interior Ministry plays a critical role as regards a series of priorities for the European Union integration, with the fight against organized crime being among them. Minister Tahiri faces a very big challenge ahead, but he has the support of the European Union”, Sequi declared.
Tahiri declared that he is convinced that the Albanian government will complete all obligations for the European Union integration of Albania.
“In a very short time we are ready to show our work in the fight against organized crime and corruption. I guaranteed the Ambassador for our determination to reinforce institutional cooperation, especially with the Prosecutor General”, Tahiri declared.
The European Union will start two twinning projects and the PAMEKA 4 project with a 4 million EUR fund that will be given to help border checkpoints.
