The Hungarian Prime Minister, Victor Orban, although having problems
with the Brussels officials, believes that the EU will not be complete
without the integration of the Balkan countries.

Orban expressed this conviction while meeting in Budapest with the Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha. According to the Hungarian PM, Albania and the Balkan region are the biggest potentials the Europe’s economic growth.

“The first step would be for the Western Balkan countries to enter the EU. It is important not only for us, but also for Europe to have Albania part of the European Community. I wish for this to happen as soon as possible. It would be the best not only for Europe, but also for the Albanians, wherever they are. I wish further successes to PM Berisha for his work”, Orban declared.

The Hungarian PM did not spare the evaluations for the Albanian homologue when he considered him a fighter of democracy, evaluations that were mutual.

PM Orban, who controls a big majority in the Hungarian Parliament, has been criticized by Brussels for the authoritarian critics in the country’s economy, having a suspended multi million EUR aid from the EU, if Hungaria will not reduce the debt.

However, Berisha considered these reforms as very audacious and underlined that the countries can face the crisis only through reforms.

“It is vital to guarantee an economic growth. It will be a main factor in the construction of the future. We are determined to continue the reforms. We are not affected by the crisis, and despite the fluctuations, we have not fallen in recession and now we are working for a new reform package, so that we can adopt the Albanian economy in the new circumstances created by globalization, in a post-western world”, Berisha declared.

Both Prime Ministers agreed for the mutual plan that would increase the economic relations between Albania and Hungaria.
