Berisha’s visit in London

Invited by the Queen of the United Kingdom, Elisabeth II, the Albanian
Prime Minister, Sali Berisha participated in the great reception that
the Queen of the UK organized for heads of states from more than 80
countries throughout the world, in the occasion of the 2012 London
Olympic Games opening.

Berisha met and exchanged opinions with many of the world leaders that were invited. The Albanian PM thanked the Queen for the reception and expressed his pleasure for being able to wish her personally a happy diamond anniversary in the 60th year of her rule.

Besides meeting with monarchs, EU Presidents and Ministers, Berisha also met the Italian President, Giorgio Napolitano, with who were discussed about his future visit in Albania.

During his visit at the Buckingham Palace, Berisha had a special meeting with the British Prime Minister, David Cameron, to whom he expressed his gratitude for the constant support that Albania has received from UK while in order to build democracy in the country.

Besides the reform progress in economy and infrastructure, Berisha updated the British Prime Minister with the reforms undertaken with the opposition for fulfilling the EU criteria in order for Albania to receive the candidate status. Berisha guaranteed PM Cameron that the EU integration is the main project for his government, which he considers as a vital process and based on merits. According to the official annunciation, PM Cameron valued Albania’s achievements and guaranteed Berisha for the unstoppable support of his government and the UK.
