“Berisha’s driver owns a mine gallery”

MP Sajmir Tahiri asked the Prime Minister to tell the Albanians who Muhamet Shkreli was. Tahiri explained that Shkreli, the Prime Minister’s driver since 2010, has bought 49% of the shares at a company that exploits a mine in Bulqize. Tahiri also presented the documents that show the transaction at the notary.

“Can you imagine what’s happening with the national wealth, when even the Prime Minister’s driver has his own mine in Bulqize. The Prime Minister must answer to the Albanians about the immunity of his driver. Without removing this Prime Minister, we will be unable to remove corruption and establish the rule of law. Our promise for everyone outside the Parliament, such as relatives, friends and party directors or other corrupted people, together with the MPs, Ministers and the Prime Minister himself, will all pay their dues with the justice and will return every cent that has been taken unjustly from this people”, Tahiri declared.

The Prime Minister also launched accusations against the opposition MPs, specifically Tom Doshi.

“People who have nothing to do with customs don’t know that your soldier MP runs at the Customs gates and has physical fights with the Customs employees. He needs Customs and medicament import, that’s why he wants immunity to be on. Some of you use the passport and immunity for suspicious transactions, and now you feel threatened without Bamir Topi (former President). You were able to take Topi on your side, but now you fear the others”, Berisha declared.

Similar accusations are often mentioned on the Parliament floor, but the Albanian archives have no records in its history of any politician or judge who has been trialed and punished for these accusations.
