Berisha: With Rama we overthrew Nano

The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, commemorated the Day of Youth, 8 December 1990.

Speaking in front of a group of students from the Aleksander Moisiu University, in Durres, the Prime Minister considered it as the year of the miracle. According to the Prime Minister, the biggest merit of the students at that time, was avoiding a civil conflict while facing a regime that held an ambiguous position.

Berisha also launched an ambiguous insinuation regarding Ramiz Alia, who passed away some weeks ago, an occurrence that the PM passed insilence.

“The latest communist dictator, who died a few months ago, accepted years later that he didn’t agree with pluralism, but he didn’t send tanks to the Students Campus. Maybe because he didn’t want to end up as Romania’s Caushesku? We cannot know this. But we value the fact that he didn’t send tanks. His interior Minister, however, said that he had order to shoot on people, and he didn’t. Ramiz never denied this, which means that he had ordered that”, Berisha declared.

Answering to the students’ questions, the PM mentioned the current politics. He analyzed his opponent’s book, Edi Rama’s “Kurban”, based on what had been published in the daily press, but he argued why he would never read the entire book:

“Mr. Rama has recorded the biggest defeats in politics, and he hasn’t mentioned them in the book. Not at all, and that’s what I would be interested to read. I haven’t read it, because, according to what he has published on the press, it seems that he is working with his inner enemy, Fatos Nano. “Mjaft Organization” meetings were filled by the Democratic Party, and Rama worked against Nano. Nano offered him the SP leader post, and he suffered defeat after defeat. And yet he doesn’t leave. When you write with such a hate for him, you unfold the marxist doctrine. This book cannot be read, because it is the most primitive model, that of the typical class division”, Berisha declared.

The PM mentioned Kosovo’s independence, which he considered as the biggest victory of the Albanians in the last 20 years. The PM answered to questions about his musical preferences and favorite writers.

Rama: Berisha, a pathetic reader

After the accusations of PM Berisha, the Socialist leader, Edi Rama, wrote on Twitter:

“I worked with Berisha to overthrow Nano? As much as I have worked with this liar about writing a book on what I think of Fatos Nano”, Rama posted on the social network.

According to Rama, it is regretful having such pathetic readers as Berisha, who talks all day about the book and says that he hasn’t read it.
