Berisha: We’ll create the “e-citizen”

The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, declared that the battle for
improving education is the most important for the future, and that this
sector will remain a priority of his government.

Speaking in the conference “The Albanian Education in the Digital Era”, the Head of the Government underlined that 2012 will mark great steps, because Albania will turn into a small super-power in this field.

“There will be internet in every classroom. The information technology is the virtual universe of youth”, Berisha declared.

The Minister of Education underlined that the education system in Albania is being modernized and the country is progressing quickly towards the digitalization.

Berisha asked the Minister of Education to include programming subject earlier in schools, and the students should be rewarded for their programming software. Considering that the number of people who spend time on internet and Facebook is very large, Berisha spoke about the electronic man.

“From the ‘Digital Albania’ project, we will pass at the ‘e-citizen’. The e-citizen will be on your doors and classrooms”, Berisha declared.
