With the slogan “More Europe”, the European leader of the right centre
reconfirmed their commitment for a more united and stronger Europe as
the only solution for crossing the economic crisis.

The main European leaders were did not focus on the enlargement, but referring to the Nobel Prize for Europe, the message of the European Commission President, Hose Manuel Barroso, was very clear when he said that Europe must guarantee that the Nobel Prize was not given to an idea of the past, but to a project of the future.

For the Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, the motto “More Europe” is vital not only for Albania, but for all Western Balkan countries that aspire to join the European family. Besides asking more interest to be shown from the Eurozone countries to reduce the Euro crisis consequences in Balkan, due to the European mother banks, Berisha also mentioned the enlargement issue.

“Western Balkan needs more Europe, because in the recent 2-3 years, due to some specific matters, the process was put in real difficulties. But if we see back in time, in the beginning of the European Union, we are a region with many wounds and the only way to heal them is to turn our European dreams into reality. Otherwise, the gap would be replaced by nationalism, which is very counterproductive. Some key blockages are still to be resolved. The European Union has its potential and I hope that it is in the best interest of the region that the European Union continues to turn their eyes to our region”, Berisha declared.

Berisha also met the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, with whom he discussed about the EU candidate status. According to the official announcement, Berisha guaranteed Merkel for his government’s determination to fulfil the last request in time, before December.
