Berisha: Tepelena, a European city

26/04/2011 12:55

The Prime Minister Sali Berisha visited the southern municipalities of
Permet and Tepelena, asking support for the candidates of the Alliance
for the Citizen coalition, emphasizing the infrastructure investments as
the best way to eliminate the backwardness inherited by the communist
decades.

In the last four years, according to the Prime Minister Berisha, there have been invested 30 million USD in infrastructure and public services for the municipality of Tepelena. In the entire territory of Albania, the Prime Minister said, the government has constructed 8000 km of new roads, from 2400 that were constructed until 2005.

“Our solemn vow is: We will build modern infrastructure wherever you live, same as in the most developed areas of the country and to the European cities”, Berisha said.

Another point where the Prime Minister Berisha was focused during his meetings at Permet and Tepelena was the consolidation of the Albanian economy and the war against poverty, for which he used data coming from the European Commission.

“In the entire history of our country, war against poverty and unemployment has never been so successful. Two weeks after the European Commission declared that even at the peak of the world crisis, unemployment in Albania not only did not increase, but it was significantly decreased. Today there is still unemployment in Albania, there is poverty, there are citizens who have to buy food by delaying the payment, but I guarantee them that this government will do everything for them, until we will create all necessary jobs”, Berisha declared.

Different to every other electoral meeting, the Prime Minister Berisha did not mention the opposition leader, Edi Rama, but asked the Albanians to vote on May 8th the Alliance for the Citizen.
