Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future For one month, the key word for the Democratic Party will be the Budget of 2012, until it will be passed in Parliament.
Berisha explained for the Democratic MPs that the government has paid a great attention to the macro-economic stability. This means keeping the debt in rigorous control under the level of 60% of the GDP, keeping one of the lowest deficits in the European Union and keeping inflation under control.
By realizing these priorities, Berisha says that the draft-budget gives an answer to the promises made by his government.
“We’re one of the fewest countries that have marked a reduction of the unemployment levels, rather than increase, as it is happening everywhere. I want to guarantee the businessmen that there will be no tax increase”, Berisha decalred.
The main investments for the next year will be in infrastructure, for the completion of which are needed 1.5 billion USD, a number that the PM says that might be achieved in the next 2-3 years.
“If there will be no unpredicted events, all privatization revenues will be used for the infrastructure. Every new road is a market energy and new spirit”, Berisha declared.
The Prime Minister compared his government with what the opposition promises for a future governing:
“Those who try to lie to the Albanians, will take by them what they deserve”, Berisha declared.
