Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, spoke on the summit of
European Popular Parties, where he blamed the opposition for losing the
candidate status at the European Council.
“The EU candidate status failure was a consequence of the opposition’s stances, which didn’t vote the qualified majority laws”, Berisha declared.
Then the Prime Minister made a summary of Albania’s achievements in the last 20 years, underlining democracy and free vote.
“Albania has seen big changes in the last 20 years. The customs revenues have doubled in the last years. The local elections of 2011 were considered by the OSCE as the best so far”, Berisha confirmed.
Underlining that the protection of the free vote is one of the biggest values of the democracy, the head of the Albanian government declared that Albania’s EU integration is our only priority.
Berisha’s critics towards the opposition come after he called their economic program “a Marxist model”.
The PM declared that these proposals made by the opposition are a mere return in its Marxist past.
“I want to express my deep concern for these proposals that aim to replace the free market mechanism with the Marxist model, especially now after the SP elections, when they returned the bureau in the leadership”, Berisha declared.
