Berisha-Ruci debates in Parliament

The Albanian Parliament turned into an arena where the two biggest
parties spare nothing to show the other side’s negative aspects, and the
positive aspects of themselves.

The debate this time came after the Devoll Cascade agreement changes, in which the Norwegian giant “Statkraft” took all the shares and will soon build three hydropower plants.

Berisha declared that renewable energy policies are the best way to open new jobs in the next four years. He added that with the Trans-Adriatic pipeline and the Devoll Cascade, the number of jobs will double.

“If during this mandate we employed 15.000 Albanian families, in the next mandate we will employ at least 30.000 families with these constructions. We will do everything possible to create facilities to the business. We want all Albanians, from all parties and without parties at all, to get employed and only to get employed”, Berisha declared.

The opposition, which voted in favour of the Statkraft agreement, declared that the shares were transferred without transparency. They asked Prime Minister Berisha to answer for the mandate that is closing.

“Your mandate is coming to an end and you must answer for the failures, unemployment, poverty, corruption, criminality and everything that you have promised. This is your duty as a Prime Minister”, declared Gramoz Ruci, leader of the SP Parliamentary Group.

“The progressive tax will never return, because the jobs, hydropower plants, investments, factories and farms do not belong to the left or right parties. They create jobs and I believe that the Albanians will never accept the return of such a notorious tax”, Berisha declared.

“The progressive tax is a market economy tax, applied in Europe and USA. You cannot use your phraseology for the progressive tax debate. If you have arguments, we invite you to bring them. The opposition leader has invited you more than once in public debates, at the studio of your wish”, Ruci declared.
