Berisha: Resolution for Integration

Prime Minister Sali Berisha invited the opposition to cooperate with the
planning of a resolution for Albania’s EU integration process.

During his speech at the Parliamentary session, the head of the Albanian government underlined that the opposition should base its position on their program as a political force, for realizing their goals.

“This is the time to prove that your promises for voting all integration issues are real”, Berisha declared.

The head of the Socialist Parliament Group reminded the fact that the Socialists have sent to the Democratic Party, since December 2010, a resolution that aims to pass the 12 priorities of Brussels, which had been disregarded by the government.

“Here is the opposition, the implementation of the resolution and the treatment of the 12 priorities required by Brussels for Albania”, Ruci declared.

The Prime Minister invited the Socialists to bring their candidacy for the Ombudsman, a concession that has been considered as insignificant by the opposition, compared to the other requests for the independence of constitutional institutions.

The stance held by the opposition has not found the majority’s consent. The Prime Minister emphasized that they will not tolerate a relation imposed by conditions.

The opposition and the majority launched several accusations against each other during the discussion for the law of witness protection and justice collaborators.

The law for the Administrative Court, which requires a qualified majority of 84 votes, has been postponed after the Socialists’ request for reviewing it. The SP Parliamentary Group has participated in all voting processes, but disapproving most of the laws and decisions.
